Chelsea have now opened talks with PSG over a deal to sign Neymar as Todd Boehly aims to bring the Brazil international to Stamford Bridge.

That is according to le10sport in France.

So, what are the details involving Chelsea and Neymar? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, we took the rumours about Chelsea and Neymar with a pinch of salt at first, although the move appears to be growing more likely by the day.

Julien Laurens told Sky Sports on Monday that Chelsea “are quite keen” on the South American, and the PSG No.10 himself is open to joining the Blues as he views them high on his list of potential destinations.

Now – as le10sport detail – discussions over a move have begun.

The French news outlet state that Chelsea have made contact with PSG to start talks over Neymar, as the Ligue 1 champions attempt to sell the 31-year-old this summer.

It comes amid a major clear out at the Parc des Princes, as other high earners such as Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos have also been let go – Christophe Galtier has been sacked as well.

Le10sport do not mention any specific figures, although it is said that PSG are open to selling Neymar for a ‘good’ price.

The Parisians famously spent a world record £200m to sign the man with 293 goals to his name.

Neymar has a contract until June 2025 with PSG, so the French giants are in a decent position to receive a large fee for the Brazilian – albeit one that is still nowhere near close to what they paid.

Neymar would be a statement signing by Chelsea

Of course, there will be many who believe Chelsea should avoid Neymar – given the drama that often follows him around, as well as his massive wages.

The PSG No.10 is said to earn £606,000-a-week in Paris.

Nevertheless, if Chelsea do go ahead with a deal to sign Neymar, it would send out a real statement to the rest of the Premier League.

It would speak volumes if Chelsea attract a world class player of this quality to Stamford Bridge after finishing 12th in the Premier League – to say the least.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the Neymar saga is heating up.
