Chelsea have made an opening bid to sign New England Revolution goalkeeper Djorde Petrovic.
That is according to a report from The Athletic.
They claim that Chelsea have started talks about signing Djorde Petrovic and have even made a first offer.
It is understood that a deal may be reached for around $15million (£12million), but discussions are ongoing between the clubs.
The report adds that the 23-year-old star is regarded as the best goalkeeper in the MLS right now.

Petrovic is the first-choice goalkeeper in the United States for New England Revolution, but could he be about to earn a high-profile transfer to the Premier League?
The Serbian shot-stopper is highly rated and actually has two senior international caps for his country.
Described as “absolutely incredible” by club teammate DeJuan Jones (Revolution Soccer), Petrovic is a colossus presence in net
The 6f 4in goalkeeper kept 33 clean sheets in 86 appearances for Serbian top-flight club FK Cukaricki before a move to the United States to continue his development. Since then, he’s had 15 clean sheets in 48 games for New England Revolution.

The Evening Standard reported this week that Chelsea have set themselves a £20million budget in this summer window to sign a backup goalkeeper to provide cover for Robert Sanchez.
Therefore, Petrovic is well within their budget and ticks a big box.
The Serbia international could be a shrewd addition to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad this season and should have plans to overtake Robert Sanchez.
