Chelsea have now told Trevoh Chalobah that he can leave the club this summer.

That is according to a report from TEAMtalk.

They claim that Chelsea have told Trevoh Chalobah, 24, he will be allowed to exit Stamford Bridge during this summer transfer window.

It is understood that Premier League trio West Ham, Everton and Crystal Palace are all interested in the Blues defender. There’s interest from Monaco, Lyon, Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund, Roma and Napoli, too.

The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino’s side would prefer to sell the Englishman, but they may be willing to agree to a loan deal with an option to buy included.

Chalobah didn’t really put a foot wrong during pre-season. The centre-back has been really consistent for the first team since coming through the academy a couple of years ago, too.

However, Chelsea have decided it’s time to move on from the dependable defender.

In fairness, the centre-back position is one area of the pitch where the competition for places is stacked at Chelsea.

The Daily Express claimed earlier this week that Chelsea have decided they want £40million before selling Chalobah this summer.

The ball-playing centre-half, who can also play right-back, could do a great job at any of the aforementioned Premier League sides.

It feels like he’s at a stage in his career where he needs to play regularly, especially if he’s got aspirations of breaking into the England fold.
