One club Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah will not be joining on deadline day is AC Milan.

Milan had been in talks with Chelsea about a potential deal for Trevoh Chalobah, but the Blues decided that they did not want to send the 24-year-old to the Italian club on loan, according to journalist Marco Demicheli.

Demicheli shared the above on Sky Sports News earlier today (01/02/2024 at 10:48).

Time is running out for Chalobah to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge and it would now not be a surprise to see the centre-back remain in west London for the rest of the season.

Chelsea opt against sending Trevoh Chalobah to AC Milan on loan

Demicheli has claimed that Chelsea did not want to send Chalobah to Milan in the end despite holding talks with the Serie A outfit.

On Chalobah, he said: “There’s been talks, but then I think Chelsea decided not to give the player on loan. AC Milan were looking for a defender on loan. AC Milan tried to sign different defenders from the Premier League.”

AC Milan move would have been great for Chalobah

The San Siro could have been the perfect destination for Chalobah.

The former England U21 international already knows several players there, with former Chelsea team-mates Fikayo Tomori, Olivier Giroud, Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all part of Stefano Pioli’s squad.

Most importantly, though, Chalobah is likely to get more game time at Milan. There is simply too much competition at Chelsea right now.

However, everything is starting to point towards a summer move for the Chelsea academy graduate.
