Chelsea are now interested in signing Villarreal player Yeremy Pino.

That is according to well-respected journalist Simon Phillips.

Phillips reported via his Substack on Friday that Chelsea have now set their sights on Yeremy Pino, 20, as a potential transfer target.

He’s explained that three different sources have told him about Blues interest in the Spanish winger.

Despite being aged just 20, Yeremy Pino is already quite experienced at first-team level.

He’s played 123 senior games for Villarreal since coming through their academy. Also, he’s got two goals in 11 senior international caps for Spain.

He’s a versatile attacker with great pace and dribbling, which is why is why he’s usually deployed on the left wing.

The Telegraph reported back in November of last year that Chelsea set their sights on Yeremy Pino as a potential replacement for Mason Mount.

Attacking midfielder Mount, 24, ended up staying with the Blues until the end of the season. He’s since completed a permanent move to Manchester United, though.

We can see room for one more forward-thinking player in the Chelsea ranks this campaign, so it’ll be interesting to see if interest in the Villarreal man increases in the final two weeks of the transfer window.

For certain, he fits in with the kind of profile signed by the club under the current ownership.
