Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Rafa Marin as he finds himself with an uncertain future at Real Madrid.
That is according to AS in Spain.
So, what are the details involving Chelsea and Rafa Marin? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Spanish news outlet believe Chelsea and RB Leipzig are the two most attentive clubs as Real Madrid run the risk of losing one of their best talents.
Marin is yet to sign a new contract – with his current terms expiring in 12 months – and it remains to be seen if he will sign a fresh deal, despite his desire to make it at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 21-year-old had hoped to be promoted to Real Madrid’s first-team, although he still finds himself playing for Real Madrid Castilla, the B team of the Spanish giants.
AS explain how Marin had opportunities to leave for first-team football last summer, but decided to stay in a bid to help Real Madrid Castilla achieve promotion.

Real Madrid Castilla came extremely close, but suffered defeat on penalties against CD Eldense in Sunday’s promotion play-off final.
Now, Marin could leave Real Madrid if it becomes clear he is not going to be part of Carlo Ancelotti’s first-team plans next season, with Chelsea lurking.
Rafa Marin update shows Chelsea are alert
Whether Chelsea manage to sign Marin or not, this update just goes to show that Todd Boehly and his team at Stamford Bridge are seriously alert when it comes to Europe’s best young talent.
The Blues have their finger on the pulse, and those in west London have already moved to snap up gems such as Cesare Casadei, Kendry Paez, Carney Chukwuemeka and David Datro Fofana before they become household names across Europe.

Hopefully, Chelsea can add Marin to that bunch of talent.
Nevertheless, even if the Blues fail to sign the Real Madrid prodigy, supporters at Stamford Bridge should be pleased to see Chelsea be so alert to the situations of elite talent at top clubs.
