Chelsea fans should be in raptures following speculation that the club are reportedly lining up a new deal for their midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
According to the Sun, the Blues are eyeing talks in the summer with the 23-year-old about extending his stay at Stamford Bridge.
His current deal is due to expire in West London in 2021, but the club want to secure his long-term future.
Loftus-Cheek has come through the club’s academy and developed out on loan, but is now an important first-team player with Chelsea.
The England international has started to become a key member of Maurizio Sarri’s team and it’s vital that another academy graduate isn’t allowed to leave.
He’s already at the level required to be a regular starter for Chelsea and just needs a bit more luck when it comes to injuries.
The central midfielder is so hard to stop when he’s in full flow and impressed in the 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday in the first leg of a Europa league semi-final.
Loftus-Cheek has made 37 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring eight gaols and supplying five assists in return.
The box-to-box midfielder is a real favourite with supporters and tying down his future will be a significant deal in the summer.
