Aside from the news regarding Morgan Rogers, Chelsea remain hard at work in their bid to flog as many fringe players as possible after failing to qualify for Europe last season.
No European football means Chelsea will have to sell a large portion of their squad. One, because too many players would not be used, and two, because Chelsea need to make up for the financial loss.
DISCUSS: In this current market, Rogers is a bargain 👀
So far this summer, Chelsea have made four permanent sales. Marc Cucurella, Andrey Santos, Tyrique George and Jimmy-Jay Morgan have all been sold, raking in a combined £117.5m from their initial fees.
A total of £12m could also arrive in add-ons in the future for those four players. While that entire lump of cash is set to be spent on Morgan Rogers, Chelsea will also sell more players, such as Benoit Badiashile.
Newcastle and Napoli eye Chelsea star after Alonso decision
Filip Jorgensen, Malo Gusto, Mamadou Sarr, Tosin Adarabioyo, Axel Disasi, Enzo Fernandez, Alejandro Garnacho, Pedro Neto, Liam Delap, Marc Guiu – the list of Chelsea players that could leave is endless.

One destined for the exit door is Badiashile. Towards the end of last season, Calum McFarlane was asked why Badiashile wasn’t playing and he simply said that Chelsea have too many options in that position.
Since then, Disasi and Aaron Anselmino have returned from loans. It is an area that Chelsea need to sort, especially with Maxence Lacroix a key target. Four, possibly even five centre-backs need to be moved on.
According to Italian reporter Nicola Schira, Badiashile will depart. Alonso has decided the Frenchman is not in his plans next season, and Schira claims Newcastle and Napoli have both opened talks to sign him.

He reported on X: “Napoli and Newcastle have asked for information for Chelsea’s centre-back Benoit Badiashile, who is not in Xabi Alonso’s Plans and is ready to leave Chelsea this summer.”
Benoit Badiashile’s disappointing Chelsea spell in numbers
It is January 2023, just six months into BlueCo’s reign as owners at Chelsea, and the Blues part with £35m to sign Badiashile from Monaco. In the next three and a half years, Badiashile would struggle in London.
Who would you sell out of Benoit Badiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo? 👋
Let us know who and why!
He has played just 71 times for Chelsea in all competitions, featuring in just 42 Premier League matches for the Blues. Last season, he managed just 16 games and played a desperate total of 1070 minutes.
His last outing came in the FA Cup win over Wrexham but in the Premier League, his final outing for the Blues was the 3-2 comeback win over West Ham. He was one of three hooked at half-time, when losing.
Since then, Badiashile has fallen behind the likes of Tosin, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, Josh Acheampong and arguably Sarr. A move is required this summer and Chelsea will want a sale.
