Chelsea are feeling confident about signing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace this summer – despite competition from Manchester City and Arsenal.

That is according to 90min.

So, what is the latest on Michael Olise and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the France Under-21 international actually spent seven years in Chelsea’s academy from 2009 to 2016.

Now, Olise could be heading back to Stamford Bridge, following a superb 2022/23 campaign in which he scored two goals and provided 11 assists in 37 Premier League games.

The 21-year-old became the youngest player in Premier League history to register three assists in one game during Crystal Palace’s 5-1 thrashing of Leeds, and he also became the first Crystal Palace player to record more than ten assists in a single Premier League campaign.

90min believe Chelsea are confident about signing Olise, largely thanks to the fact those at Stamford Bridge boast a strong relationship with the £45,000-a-week man’s family.

Richard Olise – Michael’s younger brother – is currently on the books at Chelsea, so the Blues have very close ties to the Olise family.

90min add that PSG are also keen to sign the Crystal Palace No.7 in addition to Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Olise would be a game changer for Chelsea

Of course, much of the focus at Chelsea right now is on a deal for Moises Caicedo, although Olise should be prioritised soon if the Blues cannot strike a deal with Brighton.

The London-born winger is a phenomenal talent, who is making life in the Premier League look easy at the age of just 21.

Chelsea have Noni Madueke to play out on that side, although the England Under-21 international can also operate on the left flank, meaning there is a space for Olise to start under Mauricio Pochettino.

After N’Golo Kante left for Saudi Arabia, there is also a vacant No.7 shirt for the Crystal Palace wonderkid.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as – according to RMC Sport – Olise wants to join Chelsea this summer.
