Chelsea face another transfer battle with Liverpool over Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
The two fought over Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia during the summer with Chelsea coming out on top on both occasions and could be set for a fresh tussle soon.
According to the Daily Star, Liverpool and Chelsea are both interested in Florian Wirtz, with Jurgen Klopp believing that he is one of few players who could be good enough to replace Mohamed Salah.

The same outlet has also suggested that the attacker could cost £80m if he is sold.
Wirtz has made a strong start to the season for Leverkusen, scoring three goals and providing four assists in just 10 Bundesliga appearances.
Who is Florian Wirtz more likely to join, Liverpool or Chelsea?
While Chelsea do seem keen on signing Florian Wirtz, Liverpool may have the advantage here.
The German link between Klopp and the 20-year-old cannot be overlooked, while Liverpool are probably going to be in a much better position than their Premier League rivals come next summer.
While the Reds look like they have a good chance of finishing in the top four and making a return to the Champions League, the Blues could easily find themselves without European football again. Mauricio Pochettino’s men are currently in the bottom half of the table.

Will that appeal to Wirtz, who is likely to have multiple options if he does decide to leave Leverkusen? Probably not.
That being said, Chelsea’s decline did not stop the club from beating Liverpool to Caicedo and Lavia’s signatures.
When it comes to the Blues, especially since their takeover, they really do look capable of doing anything in the transfer window. So while Liverpool may be better placed to sign Wirtz, we will just not rule anything out under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership.
