Chelsea now pursuing ‘one of the best strikers in Europe’ who wants free transfer

Chelsea could sign a new centre-forward next year despite already strengthening in that position over the summer.

Chelsea signed Joao Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town ahead of this season.

They also have Marc Guiu, though the 19-year-old does not appear to be a huge part of Enzo Maresca‘s plans right now. He has not played a single minute of football since being recalled from Sunderland.

Having already played for Sunderland, Guiu can only play for one more club this season. It means that if Chelsea use him now, he will not be able to join another side on loan in January.

Dusan Vlahovic wants free transfer amid Chelsea interest

Regardless of what happens with Guiu next year, it looks like Chelsea could sign a new striker amid fresh links with Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea are pursuing the 25-year-old and could have a great opportunity to land him in 2026.

The outlet claims that Vlahovic wants to leave Juventus on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires.

Vlahovic is a centre-forward who has been constantly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

In April, it was claimed that Chelsea had Vlahovic on their radar heading into the 2025 summer transfer window.

The Blues signed Pedro and Delap instead, but perhaps it is something that they will revisit in the new year.

Chelsea could face competition from one of Europe’s elite for Dusan Vlahovic’s signature

Vlahovic is a top striker, so it is no surprise to hear that others could also be interested in signing the Serbian.

Corriere dello Sport’s report claims that Bayern Munich are also in the picture. If they do not sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea permanently, Vlahovic could become a very viable option for them.

Whoever ends up signing Vlahovic will be getting one of the best centre-forwards in European football, according to his former manager Cesare Prandelli.

In a recent interview with Tuttosport, the ex-Fiorentina and Italy boss said: “For me, he’s a champion, and I wish he’d score even more goals: he’s one of the best strikers in Europe.”
