Chelsea player might have confirmed his summer departure via social media post
Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has written a cryptic message on social media amid reports about his imminent summer move to AC Milan.
According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the 27-year-old is now very close to a return to Milan.
He claims that Chelsea and Milan are expected to reach an agreement by Thursday evening, and the midfielder could go have his medical as early as Friday.
Chelsea have reportedly activated a one-year extension option in Bakayoko’s contract, allowing the midfielder to potentially leave on loan with an option to buy.
Bakayoko himself has a written an update on social media which is seen as an unofficial confirmation of his exit by some Milan and Chelsea fans.
The Frenchman’s Chelsea departure would hardly be a surprise since he is clearly not in Thomas Tuchel’s plans, having also been left out without squad number this season.
This would be his fourth loan spell since joining Chelsea from AS Monaco back in 2017.
He was close to leaving Chelsea permanently a few times already. However, his former loan clubs refused to trigger the option to buy in his loan deals, largely due to Chelsea’s asking price at the time.
