Tyrique George’s time at Chelsea looks to be coming to an end after a successful loan spell at Everton.

Tyrique George experienced a transitional season just gone, splitting his year between London and Merseyside. He featured four times for Chelsea in the first half of the campaign before sealing a February loan move to Everton, where he made 11 Premier League appearances.

Though the Toffees ultimately declined to trigger his initial £25 million buy option, they’re very much interested in signing him permanently.

With his path heavily blocked by a crowded Stamford Bridge frontline under Xabi Alonso, George’s future firmly lies away from the club as a highly valuable academy sale.

Tyrique George transfer agreement is finally reached

Reliable Everton insider El Bobble gave Chelsea fans a late night update on Tyrique George’s situation, which suggests that an agreement has been reached for the attacker.

The Toffees are now set to begin talks with the 20-year-old over personal terms.

He doesn’t state the potential fee for George, but we know that Everton wanted nothing to do with the £25m fee, so you would expect it to be within the £15m to £20m range.

Tyrique George just never got going at Chelsea

His time at Chelsea will ultimately be remembered as a story of what could have been, as the academy graduate never truly got going at Stamford Bridge.

No one can deny his immense promise and technical ability, but he struggled to find any meaningful rhythm or consistent opportunities within a packed Chelsea first team.

Brief cameos failed to translate into a sustained breakthrough, leaving the youngster on the periphery of the project, especially with all the new signings that the Blues have made in attacking areas.
