Chelsea benefitted from new signings being able to make an impact as they made their way towards being crowned Club World Cup champions.
Joao Pedro’s inclusion into the Blues squad from Brighton was an injection of life into Enzo Maresca’s side that they needed in the final three games of the competition.
He scored three goals, and even French media were irritated Pedro was allowed to play the final after not starting the competition as a Chelsea player.
Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and even Mamadou Sarr all made an impact in the tournament too, as some of their new players began to show what they will bring to the side in the 2025/26 season.

Chelsea want two more signings after Club World Cup win
Jamie Gittens has also already joined the club, and it looks as if the Blues are not finished yet when it comes to big-name signings.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are still discussing making two new signings after their exploits in the United States, with an attacker and a new centre-back on the agenda.
He said to DAZN: “Chelsea want to keep going on the market. My understanding is Chelsea are currently discussing several options for new attacker, this is because there is a concrete possibility both Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku leave this summer.
“Then, Chelsea are also discussing one more centre back internally.”
Jackson did not feature at all in the Club World Cup final, potentially putting the final nail in the coffin for his future as a Chelsea player.

Chelsea transfer target reacts to Club World Cup triumph
Chelsea have a number of names they have been linked to when it comes to attacking targets. They will also be considering a replacement for Noni Madueke as he completes his move to Arsenal.
Arguably their dream target is Rodrygo, who could be on the move from Real Madrid after hardly featuring so far under Xabi Alonso.
Rodrygo congratulated Pedro after the Club World Cup win, exciting Chelsea fans that he will have been watching closely how the Blues dominated PSG in the final.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea actually make a move for the Brazilian, or if they would prefer a central option to potentially replace Jackson and Nkunku.
