Chelsea are keeping tabs on Roma striker Tammy Abraham as a potential transfer target.
That is according to well-respected journalist Simon Phillips.
Phillips has reported via his Substack that Chelsea are eyeing their former player and want to see how he recovers from his current ACL injury.
It is understood that a member of the Blues staff has been in touch with Tammy Abraham on a regular basis to check up on the player’s fitness. Phillips said: “I am told that Chelsea, through a staff member, are keeping in touch with Abraham on a regular basis.”
In addition, Phillips says that the 26-year-old’s on the transfer shortlist of centre-forwards Chelsea could target.
Finally, Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino has been a “big fan” of the Roma frontman for some time.

Abraham scored 30 goals in 82 first-team games for Chelsea, a decent return for a then-youngster trying to impress at Stamford Bridge.
He’s proven himself to be a top forward in Serie A during his stint in Italy, but we do feel like there’s unfinished business in the Premier League at some stage.
His currently injury absence means there’s uncertainty over his immediate future. Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on X back in the summer that Abraham’s expected to be out until November/December.

Despite having a lot of respect and admiration for Abraham, we’d rather Chelsea avoided him for now.
His £34million sale (BBC) to Roma a couple of years ago may have been a mistake looking back, but not so much that the club need to re-sign him.
If the Blues insist on signing another No 9, we’d prefer someone proven as a top-class frontman that guarantees 20-plus goals every season.
Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen, frequently linked as a Chelsea transfer target, is the sort of addition that would get everyone off their seat at Stamford Bridge.
