Chelsea’s January transfer window is becoming busier than most and there have been widespread reports about the club’s search for a striker.
AC Milan attacker Gonzalo Higuain, who is on loan from Juventus, is a name that continues to crop up with the Blues.
According to Marca, Chelsea have contacted the 31-year-old about a switch to Stamford Bridge and he’s accepted the terms over a move.
The report details that the Argentina international could make the switch to the Premier League in January, as Milan are prepared to cut his loan spell with them.
It is understood that the centre-forward could join Chelsea immediately on loan from Juventus, with the option to buy him for £36million in the summer.
Chelsea fans are now anxiously waiting to hear if Higuain will become the club’s next high-profile striker and they should hope the deal goes through.
Manager Maurizio Sarri previously worked with him at Napoli and fans can expect fireworks at Stamford Bridge if the pair are reunited.
Higuain scored 38 goals across all competitions during his one season under Sarri at Napoli and is a perfect fit for the manager’s attacking style of football.
The striker was the lynchpin of Sarri’s team during that campaign and the thought of the duo back together should frighten Premier League defences.
Higuain is a goal machine that has 290 senior club goals in his career, but Sarri managed to bring the best out of him and they could be at it again.
