The production line of excellent talent in Chelsea’s academy is showing no signs of slowing down.
Last season, Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George stepped up from the Blues academy to Enzo Maresca’s first team. Let’s wait and see if any youngsters can follow in their footsteps this term.
Acheampong insists Chelsea’s academy has helped him prepare for the senior squad, where he’s emerged as a viable squad option.
The opening day of the 2025/26 Premier League season must have been a proud day for everyone in the club’s youth system because academy graduates Acheampong, Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah all started against Crystal Palace.

Kiano Dyer discussing terms for a new Chelsea contract
Some exciting news is that Chelsea youngster Kiano Dyer, 18, could be set to commit his long-term future to the club.
According to Football.London, Dyer is currently in talks over extending his deal with the Blues.
The teenager’s current contract is due to expire in 2026, and the Blues want to tie him down to a long-term deal. Apparently, there is confidence everything will be agreed as discussions are underway.
The report adds that there are high hopes for Dyer at Chelsea, who could go out on loan to gain vital first-team experience.
Reports last year claimed that Chelsea were at risk of losing Dyer to a rival, so it’s brilliant to hear he will soon put pen to paper on a new contract. Afterwards, we can’t wait to see what lies in store for him in the 2025/26 season, whether that’s with the Blues or out on loan elsewhere.

Tyrique George’s prediction on Kiano Dyer
Back in February, Blues youngster George tipped Dyer to be Chelsea’s next breakout star from the club’s famous academy.
Based on last season, the central midfielder looks destined for big things.
The England Under-19 international was a key figure for Chelsea’s Under-21s team last term, winning the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for October.
On paper, Dyer has all the tools to be a future star because of his composure on the ball and his range of passing. The only question mark will be around the physicality when he steps into first-team action, which is why a loan move feels like a bit of a no-brainer.
