Chelsea’s summer transfer window is far from over despite the fact the Blues are already two games into their Club World Cup campaign.
Enzo Maresca has already handed Liam Delap his first competitive start for the club, with more around the corner following Nicolas Jackson’s red card.
Dario Essugo has also made his debut in the competition, while Mamadou Sarr is waiting on the wings following his move from Strasbourg.
It was widely reported that Chelsea were pushing hard to complete more signings before the first transfer deadline day. Both Jamie Gittens and Mike Maignan were strongly linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge in time to travel to the United States.

Chelsea tipped to make three major signings before summer
Despite the strong links, journalist Ben Jacobs believes only one of these roles will be addressed by the Blues before the window slams shut for good at the start of September.
He told the ‘London is Blue’ podcast that he doesn’t expect a goalkeeper to come through the door, with their efforts being put elsewhere.
He said: “Goalkeeper was more opportunism, if another doesn’t arise, they will pick from what they have within. I don’t think they’re desperately knocking on Milan’s door at this stage.
“Definitely that right-footed left-winger, we know they’re prioritising Jamie Gittens. Absolutely another attacker with a view to Nkunku departing. Obviously, if they lose other players, in terms of a high volume of outgoings and later in the window they see another opportunity, then maybe. But I think the Kudus/Pedro/Rogers, they all fall into the Nkunku hole. That’s how I read it.
“I’d be surprised if they signed two [left wingers]. Never say never, but remember Quenda is coming in a year’s time and that’s why I think it’ll only be one.”
Jacobs also clarified after that he would add a versatile defender to the list, saying: “I do think the Hato-like position will happen. So defensive reinforcement, right-footed left-winger, and very possibly another attacker.”
Chelsea fans have made their displeasure at the goalkeeping situation known. Many are worried about starting the new season with Robert Sanchez as their number one.
The opportunity was there to integrate Djordje Petrovic, however his future now looks certain to be away from West London.

Chelsea considering big attacking signing
As well as a new winger, Chelsea are considering going big and bringing in another top attacker this summer.
They want a versatile player, and this is why Chelsea believe Joao Pedro is the perfect signing. He is set to leave Brighton this summer.
The Blues have done plenty of business with the Seagulls in recent times, bringing in Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella and Robert Sanchez.
There has been interest in Mohammed Kudus too. Chelsea reportedly offered seven players to West Ham for a potential swap deal, although that never came to fruition.
