Arsenal have reportedly submitted a new bid for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, who remains on the radar of Chelsea this month.

The January transfer window, which has been extremely busy for Chelsea, is entering its final few days. The Blues find themselves at the heart of a compelling transfer saga still, though.

Caicedo, 21, publicly explained on Instagram earlier this week that he’s seeking a move away from Brighton in January amid links to both Arsenal and Chelsea.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Ecuador international gets his wish in the upcoming days.

Moises Caicedo latest

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have launched a new bid for Caicedo after failing with a £60million attempt earlier this month.

It is understood that the Gunners have now made a £70million offer to Brighton, which is £60million up-front plus £10million in add-ons.

The report explains that Brighton are set to stick to their guns by rejecting the latest approach and demanding that the £80million price tag is met in full.

The Daily Mail adds that the South American star is currently separate from the Brighton squad as he tries to force a move to either Arsenal or Chelsea, with the former the club pushing hardest to get him right now.

Described as “magnificent” by Jamie Redknapp on Sky Sports, Caicedo is a talented all-action central midfielder trying to get his high-profile move before the January window shuts.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has recently reported that Chelsea boss Graham Potter has been in discussions with Caicedo himself about trying to sign him at Stamford Bridge.

Potter previously worked with the 21-year-old at Brighton, but are Chelsea willing to go near his £80million valuation?
