Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on RB Leipzig’s Dominik Szoboszlai as a transfer target.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Blues scouts have been watching the 22-year-old star impressing for the German Bundesliga side.
Jacobs has told CaughtOffside that Chelsea’s technical director Christopher Vivell is a “big fan” of Szoboszlai, who he knows from his own time in Leipzig.
In addition, Szoboszlai has reportedly been on the phone to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland to ask about life in England. The duo are close friends after playing in the same Red Bull Salzburg side a few years ago.
Jacobs said: “I am told Szoboszlai has spoken in some detail about life in England to his close friend Erling Haaland.”

Szoboszlai was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge last week, so the speculation around his future this summer is starting to heat up.
The attacking midfielder has 18 direct goal contributions in 32 Leipzig appearances so far this season, which is why it’s no real surprise that clubs are rumoured to be in for him.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb last week, Chelsea are actually in talks with Leipzig about a potential deal for the creative playmaker. Graham Potter’s side even believe they were close to wrapping up a deal soon, too.

In our view, Chelsea links to Szoboszlai should be taken with a pinch of salt.
As it stands, Graham Potter’s squad is already overloaded with options in the attacking areas of the pitch.
The Blues quite obviously need a No.9 to lead the line, but they’ve got an abundance of players who can feature in the wide positions or No.10 pockets.
