Chelsea are reportedly ready to compete this summer to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Nunes.
Nunes, who joined Wolves last summer, is currently having an eye-catching debut season in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old Portugal international has quickly become an important first-team player at Molineux, with his game very much suited to the English league.
He’s an all-action central midfielder who’s press-resistant and confident on the ball. Also, he’s got real athleticism as a box-to-box midfielder that adds super aggression in the centre of the park.
The arrival of Julen Lopetegui as the Wolves manager has been great for him.

Matheus Nunes interest
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are willing to battle rivals Liverpool in the summer to sign Nunes.
It is understood that the Blues admire the Wolves midfielder, so they are likely to challenge for his signature at the end of the season.
The report adds that it cost Wolves £44million to sign Nunes from Sporting Lisbon last year, but his price tag this summer will rise to around £55million.

Sky Germany claimed last July that Chelsea were in pole position to sign Nunes from Sporting Lisbon. He did end up joining Wolves the following month, though.
It sounds like it could cost be another £50million-plus signing for Chelsea if they want to bring Nunes to Stamford Bridge.
There’s definitely a need for the Blues to strengthen in the centre of the park as Graham Potter rebuilds his own squad, but Nunes is one of several midfielders currently linked with the club.
