Chelsea have reportedly been in discussions this week with the agent of Real Valladolid youngster Ivan Fresneda.
Fresneda, who’s just 18 years of age, is a defender that’s already playing regular first-team football in La Liga.
90min recently claimed that Fresneda was attracting widespread interest from a number of clubs in Europe. Chelsea, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus were named as the potential buyers.
90min added that Valladolid could sell their teenage right-back for around €20million (£18million).

Ivan Fresneda pursuit
Journalist Simon Phillips has delivered an intriguing update regarding Chelsea’s attempts to sign Fresneda.
Apparently, the Blues have been in talks this week with the agent of the Spanish full-back. They’re not the only side in England hunting his signature this month, though.
Phillips told GiveMeSport: “They’ve spoken to his agent this week, but so have quite a few clubs in England. It’s an interesting link and he’s a very good player. He’s certainly one that’s going to get a big move pretty soon.”

It’s been brilliant to watch the club attract so many top-quality players to the club in January, but there’s definitely a void at right-back that still needs filling.
Aged 18, Fresneda could be the perfect understudy and direct rival for Reece James at Stamford Bridge. He’s been described as “fantastic” by Valladolid manager Pacheta and is doing great things as an 18-year-old.
Many supporters are concerned about the growing size of the squad, which will mean some high-profile individuals missing out every week.
However, there’s definitely room in the group for a right-back.
Let’s see if Chelsea can tempt yet another youngster to this exciting project in west London.
