Chelsea are close to securing the signature of Norwich City prospect Alex Matos.
Alex Matos, who’s just 18, may be on the verge of completing a move to Stamford Bridge.
According to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Chelsea are in “advanced talks” with Norwich for the English teenager.
It is understood that the “deal is entering its closing stages”, with the free transfer expected to be wrapped up soon.
Romano adds that the Norwich attacker will be become part of Chelsea’s Under-21s squad, which is doing very well right now in the Premier League 2.

Matos is yet to make a first-team debut in his career, but Chelsea have spotted enough talent in him to make their move.
The winger has played a lot of football so far this season across Norwich’s Under-21s and Norwich’s Under-18s side, so it’s interesting to hear Chelsea’s immediate plans for him.
It’s worth noting he’s a versatile youngster who has played in a lot of different positions this campaign. Chelsea’s academy is known for producing versatile players who can play multiple positions, such as Lewis Hall.
Let’s hope Matos can integrate smoothly at Chelsea if this deal goes through.

It’s very clear now that the Chelsea ownership are putting quite a large focus on investing in youth.
We do love so many of these young rising stars join the club, but it’s impossible to house all of them when they’re at such a crucial development period in their careers.
