Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic as a potential transfer target.

Brozovic, who turned 30 a couple of months ago, is a high-profile defensive midfielder with a lot of quality.

He’s been such an integral figure at the San Siro in Inter colours since he joined them back in 2015. The deep-lying midfielder turns into a superstar alongside Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic when representing Croatia on the international stage, too.

Marcelo Brozovic future

According to Gazetta dello Sport, Inter Milan are prepared to sell Brozovic at the end of the season in the summer transfer window.

It is understood that the Serie A giants value him at around €30million (£26million).

The report says that Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus may all be interested buyers that have set sights on the midfield enforcer.

Inter have decided it may be time to cash in on a player whose contract expires in 2026.

Potential bargain

Described as “fantastic” by Jose Mourinho in 2021, Brozovic is a quality operator that could thrive in the Premier League within the right team.

He’s had bad luck with a couple of injuries already this season, which is worrying when a player enters his thirties.

However, he may be a potential bargain for any top club, especially when you see the current start of the transfer market.

Chelsea’s main policy when spending under the new ownership has been to invest in young talent, but Brozovic could be a great exception to that.
