Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri.

Nwaneri, who turns 16 next week, is an exciting talent currently in the Arsenal academy.

The 15-year-old became a record-breaking teenager earlier this season by becoming the youngest player to ever play in the Premier League.

He came on for his first-team debut last September against Brentford, which remains his only senior appearance to date.

According to The Telegraph, Nwaneri could end up leaving Arsenal to join a main domestic rival.

It is understood that there is a “serious risk” the attacking midfielder exits the Emirates Stadium, with Chelsea and Manchester City both paying close attention to his development.

The report adds that the Gunners still hope they can convince the young playmaker to extend his stay with them, though.

Described as “unplayable at times” by Jack Wilshere, Nwaneri is a rising talent who’s been gaining quite a big reputation at youth level.

He’s been playing plenty of games in 2023 as part of Arsenal’s Under-21s side, including against Chelsea last month in the Premier League 2.

There has been a clear plan under Chelsea’s new owners to sign some of the best and brightest youngsters in the game, so you can fully understand why Nwaneri’s name has cropped up.

Omari Hutchinson, 19, is one young talent who joined Chelsea last summer after years of developing in the Arsenal academy.

Can Graham Potter’s side now repeat the trick with Nwaneri?
