Chelsea will reportedly find it “very difficult” to sign Evan Ferguson from Brighton.
Evan Ferguson, who’s enjoying a breakout season at first-team level, is a very exciting 18-year-old youngster.
The striker has scored seven goals in his 16 senior appearances so far this season, netting three times in the Premier League.
He’s starting to make his impact on the international stage now, too. The centre-forward scored his first senior goal for the Republic of Ireland during a win against Latvia last week.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Chelsea are among the top clubs to set their sights on Brighton’s rising star.
However, any interested buyer will have a huge task on their hands convincing the Seagulls to sell him.
Jacobs told CaughtOffside: “Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Barcelona and Roma have all scouted Ferguson. This is normal since clubs know they have to track this type of player early and start building relationships ready for when they choose to move,”
“Ferguson is of appeal to all these top clubs because he has a bit of everything: he’s strong, clinical and intelligent… but perhaps most importantly from Brighton’s perspective, loyal.
“Ferguson is contracted until 2026, so it’s very difficult for any club to prize him away this summer, at least at value, especially given Ferguson’s priority is game time, and if Brighton qualify for Europe there is really no reason for him to leave in 2023.”

Described as a “superstar” by pundit Danny Murphy on BBC Sport, Ferguson is definitely a player on the rise.
He’s impressing in a Brighton side that play some attractive football under Roberto De Zerbi, which would be a dream for most strikers. He should only get better with more experience, too.
Chelsea have negotiated a lot with the Seagulls in recent times, snapping up a manager and star player from them last year. Brighton are a very well run football club, though.
The early signs are Ferguson has a big future ahead of him, something that interest in him suggests, but how long will it be before a high-profile transfer?
