Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing defender Kyle Walker-Peters from Premier League rivals Southampton.
According to talkSPORT, Chelsea and Manchester United have set their sights on a move for the 25-year-old Englishman. His previous club Tottenham are keeping tabs on the situation, too.
It is understood that the full-back is looking to force a move away from Southampton after stalling on talks over a new contract.
The report explains that the Saints know they face a real battle to keep one of their standout individuals.

Chelsea interested in Kyle Walker-Peters
Walker-Peters is an intriguing new defensive target to be linked with the Blues this month.
Sold by Spurs for £12million back in 2020 when Jose Mourinho was still in charge, Walker-Peters has grown into an extremely reliable Premier League defender during his time at St Mary’s. It’s why he’s got two senior England caps to date.
He’s primarily a right-back that provides energy up and down the wing, albeit he’s very comfortable swapping over at left-back as well.
Described as “amazing” by Ralph Hasenhuttl, Walker-Peters is now attracting the kind of interest in England that does highlight his own talent.

There’s no doubt Chelsea need another right back, and Walker-Peters could be the ideal competition for Reece James.
Walker-Peters is currently playing for a struggling Southampton side that are rooted to the bottom of the league table. However, that shouldn’t put Chelsea supporters off the idea of snapping up one of their top players.
If he doesn’t cost too much, this could be a really shrewd addition for Graham Potter’s squad.
