Juventus CFO Francesco Calvo has said that Dusan Vlahovic could do better, amid rumours linking the striker with a move to Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

90min have quoted Calvo as saying that Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is not for sale, amid speculation that Chelsea have made a big bid for him.

The Juventus CFO, though, has added that the £215,000-a-week (SalarySport) striker needs to do better.

ESPN reported over the weekend that Chelsea have made a bid of €80 million (£70 million) for the 23-year-old striker.

The report added that Juventus are willing to sell the Serbia international, who himself is keen on a move to Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Vlahovic has made 22 starts and five substitute appearances in Serie A for Juventus this season.

The striker has scored 10 goals and given two assists in those games.

The Juventus no. 9 scored one goal and provided one assist in five UEFA Champions League appearances, and scored three goals and gave one assist in eight UEFA Europa League matches for Juve this season.

Juventus stance on Chelsea target Dusan Vlahovic

Calvo said about Vlahovic: “Rumours are not something we can control, but the transfer market hasn’t even opened yet.

“Dusan is not for sale. We are satisfied with the effort he puts in, although everyone in life can do better.”

Summer transfer could still happen

In our view, Dusan Vlahovic could still join Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Yes, Juventus are taking the stance that they will not sell the striker, but anything is possible when the transfer window opens.

The striker himself could be tempted by a move to Chelsea, who could offer enough money in transfer fees to convince Juventus to sell him.
