After struggling for regular minutes last season, Tosin Adarabioyo faces a make-or-break summer at Chelsea.
Despite finding regular minutes hard to come by last season, Tosin Adarabioyo has remained a highly valued leader within the Chelsea dressing room.
Signed on a free transfer from Fulham, the centre-back brought crucial Premier League experience and a mature presence to an otherwise incredibly young and developing Blues squad.
However, as we know, the defensive side of things is something that Xabi Alonso will be looking to address this summer after a terrible campaign. And one of the main issues that has been raised is the hole that has been left by Thiago Silva’s exit at Chelsea.

Tosin Adarabioyo’s future is up in the air
In an update from Football.London, the futures of Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile are up in the air this summer.
Both centre-backs found regular minutes hard to come by last season and are set for an even greater task next term with reinforcements expected to arrive at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues want to add a starting-level centre-back to their ranks – someone to partner Levi Colwill, who remains front and centre of the club’s long-term plans.
Multiple names have been discussed internally, though people close to the club are keeping their cards close to their chest – a clear change from recent windows.
Who would you rather see at left-back next season, Jorrel Hato or Lewis Hall?

Chelsea should keep Tosin Adarabioyo
Despite Tosin Adarabioyo’s future seemingly changing, Chelsea must seriously consider keeping him this summer, despite the potential defensive additions.
More importantly, his maturity and Premier League experience provide essential leadership in a dressing room dominated by young talent. In a grueling campaign, squad depth is paramount, and having a proven, top-flight defender who accepts his role without complaint is a rare luxury.
Selling him would only force Chelsea back into the market for a costly replacement. Keeping Adarabioyo ensures the Blues maintain squad harmony and another experienced character in a squad that lacks them.
