Emerson Palmieri’s agent Fernando Garcia said Chelsea could be tempted to offload the defender with several clubs already making enquiries.

It is pretty clear that Frank Lampard considers Ben Chilwell as his first-option left-back at Chelsea.

Emerson has had to be content with playing second fiddle to the England international and limited game time.

So far, the 26-year-old has yet to make any Premier League starts this season, managing only seven appearances in all competitions.

His agent Garcia admitted that Chelsea could let go of the defender, but only if they received an adequate offer.

“Emerson Palmieri to Inter [Milan] on a free loan? Absolutely not,” the agent told FCInterNews.it.

“Chelsea wants to possibly monetise his sale. Not having liquidity is a problem.

“Some teams have already made soundings, but I won’t reveal which ones.

“How much would he [Emerson] cost? We haven’t talked about it.”

Emerson has been under pressure to make a decision over his future, including from Italy boss Roberto Mancini, who urged him to return to Serie A to pursue regular football.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if Emerson decided to leave in January, although it remains unclear whether any club would be willing to meet Chelsea’s asking price.
