Chelsea are keen to offload Michy Bathsuayi and will offer him to other clubs again this summer, according to HLN journalist Kristof Terreur.
This transfer window could be the last opportunity for the Blues to cash in on the 27-year-old striker whose loan spell at Crystal Palace recently ended.
Batshuayi has entered the final year of his contract at Chelsea and he would be able to negotiate any free-transfer move in six months.
UK-based Belgian journalist Terreur said he is not surprised by the rumour, since Batshuayi had his best season under Leedsmanager Marcelo Bielsa at Marseille.
“I can see why he’s linked, but some people denied that there was any interest [from Leeds],” Terreur told The Football Terrace.
“I know he’s been offered last year to Leeds, and I can see why it [the rumour] is coming back.
“He’ll be offered again. Chelesa want to offload him. Looking at teams where they could [get] a bit of money.
“It’s a possibility [that Leeds might be interested], but at the moment, there haven’t been any strong signals that it’s happening.
“As I understood, there haven’t been any negotiations between the clubs yet.”
During the podcast, Terreur also highlighted how Batshuayi certainly needs a new start after four loan spells in the five years the striker has been at Chelsea.
Batshuayi’s goalscoring form this season would not help make any attempt to sell him to another club any easier, however.
He only scored twice in the Premier League from seven starts (18 in total) for Crystal Palace in 2020/21.
