Chelsea will send Angelo Gabriel on loan to Strasbourg once the pre-season tour of the United States is over.

That is according to the Evening Standard.

So, what is the situation involving Angelo Gabriel at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Blues signed the 18-year-old from Santos in a £14m deal on Sunday 16th July.

Many expected Chelsea to immediately send the Brazilian out on loan to Strasbourg after Todd Boehly completed a 100% takeover of the French side.

However, Angelo was allowed to travel to the United States as part of Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team squad, where he has impressed with some sharp displays on the right flank, where he often cuts inside on his stronger left foot.

Despite his excellent performances in the 5-0 win over Wrexham and the 4-3 victory against Brighton, Chelsea look set to stick with their original plan for the teenager.

The Evening Standard believe Angelo will be sent on loan to Strasbourg once Chelsea return from their tour of the United States.

Angelo Gabriel unlikely to be the only player Chelsea send to Strasbourg

Chelsea actually have plans to send another player out on loan to the Ligue 1 side – who are now managed by Patrick Vieira.

The Evening Standard add that Chelsea are still in talks to sign Elye Wahi from Montpellier, and he is expected to join Strasbourg on loan as well once the deal is finalised.

Impressively, the Frenchman scored 19 goals in Ligue 1 last season.

Furthermore – according to Dean Jones – Chelsea could also send Carney Chukwuemeka on loan to Vieira’s Strasbourg, as the Blues look to help the England Under-21 international realise his immense potential.

Hopefully, Boehly’s acquisition of the French side can do wonders for Chelsea when it comes to developing young talent in the coming years.
