Chelsea could reportedly be competitors in the race to sign a Premier League striker.
When you look at the current Chelsea squad, they do have some decent options to lead the line. The Blues continue to be linked with potential alternatives in attack, though.
Nicolas Jackson has been the club’s first-choice centre-forward recently, while Christopher Nkunku is the excellent understudy. There’s also youngster Marc Guiu in the group, too.
Interestingly, speaking via talkSPORT recently, Tony Cascarino suggested he’d like to see Chelsea winger Noni Madueke trialed at striker.

Chelsea would compete for Dominic Calvert-Lewin
According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea and Newcastle United would likely be in competition with Juventus if the Italians attempt to sign Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
It is explained that Serie A giants Juventus are more likely to prioritise Everton frontman Beto over teammate Calvert-Lewin in the January window.
The report explains that Calvert-Lewin’s contract situation has caught the eye of the Turin-based club. Incidentally, he’s currently into the final year of his contract with Everton.
However, Juventus recognise it would take a strong permanent offer to sign the 27-year-old Englishman mid-season, plus there may be competition from Chelsea and Newcastle for his signature.
Chelsea should give it a miss
Carlo Ancelotti once described Calvert-Lewin as a “complete striker” via Sky Sports back in 2020. However, his career has been too stop-start due to injury, and he’s never really kicked on to the elite level.
If Chelsea are going to go out and sign a new No 9, we’d argue they should avoid the Everton attacker to focus on a much more prolific goalscorer.
Calvert-Lewin’s record of 56 goals in 220 Premier League appearances is a moderate return. While he’s been a decent option for Everton, we doubt he could make the jump into one of England’s big clubs.
As it stands, Jackson and Nkunku are operating at a completely different level to Calvert-Lewin.
