Chelsea’s longest serving player now open to transfer to Champions League club

Reports have claimed that Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is now open on a move to Bayern Munich this summer.

According to SPORT1, the German club are keen on bringing the Spain international in this summer potentially on a temporary deal.

It broke last night that the Bundesliga champions are looking at Kepa in an attempt to strengthen between the sticks ahead of next season.

Manuel Neuer is still some distance away from returning, and therefore another player in the position is important for them this summer.

The interest is reportedly being led by Thomas Tuchel, who has plenty of experience working with him during their time at Chelsea.

However, the manager at the time notably preferred to start Edouard Mendy in goal, with the 28-year-old becoming somewhat of a forgotten man despite his large transfer fee.

Kepa open to Bayern move

Despite being out of favour for a large period of his time at the club, Kepa has now become the longest serving player at Stamford Bridge after a plethora of first team sales this summer.

He may be considering a move away after the club’s recent transfer business. They have completed the signing of countryman Robert Sanchez from Brighton.

The 25-year-old had fallen out of favour at the Amex, and a move looked best for both parties as Chelsea seek competition between the sticks.

If Kepa was to move on, it is unclear if the Blues would enter the market again for another goalkeeper, given the fact that they are still needing to strengthen in numerous positions this summer.

A central midfielder is seemingly top of the list, and a deal for Moises Caicedo is what they are looking for, although a wall has been hit in negotiations.
