It would be a major surprise if Axel Disasi was still at Chelsea by the time the summer window closes.
Axel Disasi, 27, is heavily linked in the transfer rumour mill with a Chelsea exit. The French defender slipped down the pecking order under Blues head coach Enzo Maresca last season, which led to him being loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of the campaign.
| Club | Appearances | Goals |
| Chelsea | 17 | 2 |
| Aston Villa | 10 | 0 |
Disasi is currently training at Cobham because he’s one of several Blues outcasts who are not in the club’s plans moving forward, so there is now a waiting game to see where he ends up playing his football.
Apparently, Disasi is expected to leave Chelsea this summer amid transfer interest in him. It is believed that Chelsea would be prepared to sell Disasi for around £30m amid interest from Premier League rivals Newcastle United.

Villarreal to make loan bid for Axel Disasi
According to L’Equipe, Spanish club Villarreal will make an ‘offer’ on today (Tuesday) to sign Disasi on loan.
Apparently, the 27-year-old central defender is unlikely to stay with the Blues, who would prefer to sell him rather than ship out on loan again.
The report adds that Newcastle and Juventus have made enquiries about signing Disasi, but it is Villarreal that are stepping up their interest with a loan bid.
Disasi, who joined Chelsea in the 2023 summer window from Monaco, is still under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2029. Fans will now hope he doesn’t get stuck in a cycle of loan spells season after season.
Even though Saudi Pro League side Neom have ended their interest in signing Disasi, there could be an offer on the table to join La Liga club Villarreal in the next few hours.

What John Obi Mikel said about Axel Disasi a year ago
Former Blues midfielder John Obi Mikel previously said that both Disasi and Benoit Badiashile weren’t at the level required for Chelsea.
Back in June 2024, Mikel insisted Disasi isn’t good enough for Chelsea. He said: ““I don’t think Benoit Badiashile is the guy for Chelsea. Alex Disasi… no! We need two proven, top centre backs who will come in and stabilise that back four.”
While Badiashile has continued to be an important part of Chelsea’s squad, Disasi has fallen out of favour and looks set for some form of departure.
