Newcastle United believe that Chelsea may have let two future England internationals leave in the shape of Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento.

That is according to a report from The Athletic.

Newcastle defenders Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento, who are two highly-rated youngsters, both came through the academy at Chelsea.

The Blues sent 19-year-old left-back Hall to Newcastle in the summer on a season-long loan, which includes an obligation to buy for £28million (Sky Sports). Incidentally, The Telegraph reported last month that some Chelsea staff were left absolutely dismayed by Hall’s exit.

Meanwhile, Livramento left Stamford Bridge in 2021 to join Southampton. The 20-year-old right-back was then signed by Eddie Howe’s Newcastle in the most recent summer window.

Future England pair

The Athletic claims that Newcastle believe they’ve done a great job in signing two stars for the future.

Hall and Livramento find themselves on the Newcastle bench for most games this season, missing out to Dan Burn and Kieran Trippier, respectively, in the full-back positions.

However, the report says that the Magpies have real faith that the youngsters will be future senior England internationals. They always viewed their additions at St James’ Park as part of a long-term project.

The duo have already represented England at various age groups in recent years, so perhaps a senior call-up is inevitable at some stage.

Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento to join long list

We’re losing count of the number of talented youngsters to develop in Chelsea’s academy before finding first-team homes elsewhere.

In fairness, there’s not going to be room for every talented academy prospect to force their way into the main squad at Stamford Bridge.

However, there’s a chance Hall and Livramento may join the crop that the club should really regret missing out on.

It will send a shiver down the spine of any Chelsea fan when you mention the likes of Declan Rice and Jamal Musiala, who both spent time in the academy at Cobham before building fantastic careers for themselves at other clubs.
