Barcelona believe one of their players could attract interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in the summer.

Barcelona are waiting for Frenkie de Jong to make a decision on his future after offering him a new contract a few months ago, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Their report states that if the midfielder decides not to extend his contract at the Spotify Camp Nou, Barcelona think Chelsea are one club who would be willing to pay a lot of money to sign him.

The same outlet claims that the La Liga outfit would demand a €100m (£85m) fee for De Jong.

If De Jong does not extend his contract, which expires in 2026, it looks like Barcelona are predicting moves from Chelsea and United.

Honestly, we would be quite surprised if the Blues went after the Dutchman in the summer.

They have spent so much money on midfielders over the last few transfer windows after bringing in Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia.

Right now, Chelsea look good in that area of the pitch, especially when you consider the form of Conor Gallagher.

The England international has played a big role in their last two wins against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, scoring three goals across those two games.

Of course, they have their own contract dilemma with him. His existing deal expires next year.

Whatever the case, Chelsea are not in a position where they need to go out and spend crazy money on another midfielder. And again, we do not think they will.
