Chelsea have now received a boost in their pursuit of David Raya after Brentford signed an apparent replacement for the Spain international.
It was Sky Sports who revealed that Chelsea are keen to sign the Brentford No.1 this summer amid doubts over Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy.
Now, a move to sign David Raya could be on for Mauricio Pochettino.
What’s the story?
Well, the Bees confirmed the arrival of Mark Flekken in an £11m deal from SC Freiburg earlier on Wednesday.
In the aforementioned report from Sky Sports, it was said that the Dutchman was one of those being considered by Brentford as a potential Raya replacement.
After a stunning season in Germany – in which Flekken kept 16 clean sheets across 44 appearances – it is hard to imagine that the Netherlands international would be arriving at Brentford to be a backup option.
Therefore, it seems it is only a matter of time until Raya finds a new club, with Chelsea a potential destination.
Chelsea know what they must do to sign David Raya
Chelsea have already been told how much they will need to bid if they are to sign Raya this summer.
Again according to the aforementioned story from Sky Sports, it is said that Brentford value the Spaniard at £40m.

The Telegraph have claimed that Chelsea are also looking at Inter Milan glovesman Andre Onana as an alternative to Raya, although the Italian giants also value their shot-stopper at a sum of £40m.
Therefore, given the fact Brentford have already signed a replacement for Raya, whereas Inter Milan are intending on keeping their Cameroon international, we would say it is far more likely that Chelsea strike a deal with Brentford.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Raya now appears to be free to leave after Flekken arrived in London.
