Brighton have now agreed a deal to sign Chelsea target Mohammed Kudus from Ajax – his personal terms are close to being finalised as well.
That is according to The Athletic.
So, what is the situation involving Chelsea and Mohammed Kudus? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, it was Fabrizio Romano who claimed that Chelsea have spoken to people close to the Ghana international as they explore a deal to sign him.
The aforementioned story from The Athletic adds that Chelsea also made contact with Ajax in an attempt to bring Kudus to Stamford Bridge.
Now – however – Mauricio Pochettino looks set to miss out on the versatile attacker.

It is said that Brighton have agreed a €40m (£35m) deal with Ajax for Kudus, which would be a new club-record signing for the Seagulls.
The 23-year-old is also close to agreeing personal terms with Roberto De Zerbi’s side, after the Italian made the Ajax No.20 a key target for Brighton this summer.
Kudus to Brighton could see Chelsea push hard to sign Olise
In our view, this news could see Chelsea ramp up their interest in Michael Olise.
A story from RMC Sport in France claims that the Blues have already made a £26m bid for the Crystal Palace No.7 this summer, and he would be willing to join Chelsea instead of Manchester City.
That £26m offer is surely not enough for Olise, who already has a very low £35m release clause as it is.

With Crystal Palace presumably unlikely to accept £26m for the France Under-21 international, we believe this news regarding Kudus could spark Chelsea into triggering Olise’s release clause, in fear of missing out on yet another attacking target.
Be sure to keep an eye on developments at Chelsea, as more signings are expected at Stamford Bridge this month.
