Juventus want Dusan Vlahovic to sign a new contract despite having showed a willingness to sell the striker to Chelsea in the last transfer window.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Old Lady are prepared to offer Dusan Vlahovic a one-year extension with a pay rise.

It comes after multiple outlets, including The Guardian, reported that Juventus were open to letting him join Chelsea in a deal that would have seen Romelu Lukaku head in the other direction.

The Guardian also claimed that the Blues did consider signing Vlahovic, but the 23-year-old ended up staying at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus bought Vlahovic from Fiorentina in 2022 for about £67m.

Chelsea have moved on from Dusan Vlahovic

It seems unlikely that Chelsea will revisit a potential deal for Vlahovic, especially if he does go on to sign this new contract at Juventus.

Right now, the Blues seem to have other priorities in the No.9 position.

According to FootballTransfers, it is another Serie A striker who is at the top of their list at the moment, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

The same outlet has also claimed that Chelsea have identified Brentford’s Ivan Toney, who scored 20 Premier League goals last season, as an alternative to the Nigerian.

Never say never, but if Chelsea have already turned down the opportunity to sign Vlahovic in a transfer that would have helped them get rid of Lukaku, then why would they buy the Serbia international now? Unless Osimhen and Toney are off the table, it would not make much sense.
