Galatasaray have now announced that Wilfried Zaha is in talks to join them – a player who Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wanted at Chelsea.
It was the Daily Mail who claimed that Chelsea were among the most serious candidates to sign the Ivory Coast international, after his contract at Crystal Palace expired.
So, what is the situation involving Wilfried Zaha? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the aforementioned story from the Daily Mail added that Pochettino admired the 30-year-old from his time in charge of Tottenham, and wanted to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Now – however – Zaha has made the surprising decision to join Galatasaray.
The Turkish giants themselves have revealed that the Ivorian is on his way to Istanbul.
Fabrizio Romano has also reported on the situation involving Zaha, adding that the Super Lig side are currently booking medical examinations for the Crystal Palace legend, and he is expected to sign a three-year contract.
Who Chelsea could sign instead of Galatasaray-bound Zaha
Pochettino certainly seems to be keen on signing a new forward, especially after Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz left Stamford Bridge for AC Milan and Arsenal respectively.
One player who has been linked is Lyon No.18 Rayan Cherki.
According to Football London, the Blues are stepping up their interest in the France Under-21 international, as Todd Boehly boasts a strong relationship with the French giants.
Furthermore, Chelsea are also said to be interested in Kylian Mbappe of all players.

French news outlet RMC Sport believe the Blues are among those keen to buy the Frenchman after PSG banished him from pre-season.
According to The Athletic, Mbappe is now up for sale as PSG believe he has already agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer, and the Parisians do not want to lose him for nothing.
Be sure to keep an eye on developments at Chelsea, as anything could happen this summer.
