Napoli are planning to tie down the future of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with them amid interest from clubs such as Chelsea.

That is according to a report from ESPN.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who’s just 22, is a star in Naples after winning the Serie A title last season.

The exciting left-winger was on fire during the previous campaign for Napoli, scoring 14 goals and making 17 assists across all competitions.

It’s not the biggest surprise to hear that some of Europe’s elite sides now want to sign the Georgia international.

Chelsea interest

ESPN claims that Chelsea are one of several teams to be tracking Kvaratskhelia.

It is explained that Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Newcastle United are also keen on the signing the 22-year-old forward.

The report says that Italian champions Napoli are planning to keep their rapid attacker and talks are progressing well over a possible contract extension on improved terms.

Apparently, the Serie A club value Kvaratskhelia in excess of €100million (£87million), which would make any deal for Chelsea pretty difficult to pull off.

Speaking on Talking Transfers this week, journalist Graeme Bailey suggested that interested buyers may need to wait until 2025 before Kvaratskheila becomes available.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia the real deal

Kvaratskhelia’s an exquisite young footballer with such an incredibly high ceiling.

The skilful wide player is a nightmare in 1v1 situations against full-backs, with his dribbling and low centre of gravity so hard to defend against.

Described as “really quick” by Jurgen Klopp last year (Liverpool’s official website), Kvaratskhelia has explosive pace to sprint away from nearly any player in Europe.

There’s no doubt that Napoli’s talisman would be a really exciting addition to anyone’s squad, but he’s certainly not the type of profile that Chelsea needs to be focusing on signing right now. In fact, the Blues already own so many exciting wingers such as Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk.

If there’s any Napoli player that Chelsea needs to sign, high-profile striker Victor Osimhen is the man.
