Michael Olise might not be joining Chelsea this summer as the Crystal Palace No.7’s situation is a “complicated” one.
That is according to Alan Nixon.
So, what is the latest on Chelsea target Michael Olise? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to The Athletic – staff at Chelsea are really excited about the prospect of Olise moving to Stamford Bridge.
A story from 90min claimed that Chelsea feel they have already won the race to sign the France Under-21 international, as they boast a strong relationship with his family.
Now – however – Nixon doesn’t think a deal will materialise.
The reliable journalist responded to a Crystal Palace fan on Twitter asking about Olise’s situation, claiming that it is “complicated” and he doesn’t believe the Londoner will leave Selhurst Park this summer.
Nixon wrote: “It’s complicated and I don’t think he leaves”.

The supporter also asked about Joachim Andersen, causing a bit of confusion as to whether Nixon meant Olise or the Denmark international.
However, the journalist confirmed he meant the 21-year-old in a later response.
No Champions League could cost Chelsea in Michael Olise saga
There are rumours that Olise has a £35m release clause, but it is only relevant to those competing in the Champions League – that is actually what Nixon claimed was “complicated” in his initial response.
If that is true, then the disastrous 2022/23 campaign could see Chelsea miss out on one of Europe’s most exciting footballers for a ridiculously low fee.

Ultimately, a lot of the discussion surrounding Olise is uncertain – even an outlet as reliable as The Athletic initially claimed that he didn’t have a £35m release clause, only to then backtrack on that.
Therefore, it is worth keeping an eye out for more developments, with many eager to know what Nixon believes is “complicated” about the deal – as usual, he was pretty coy about the transfer saga.
