Don Hutchison has suggested Chelsea may try get rid of Timo Werner in a deal to sign reported transfer target Erling Haaland.
ESPN reports that Chelsea are one of several clubs interested in Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland, who has 33 goals in 31 matches this season for his club.
The report states that German side Dortmund have put a €180million (£153.8million) valuation on him this summer amid interest.
ESPN adds that Chelsea were fairly confident of tempting the 20-year-old to west London before the price tag was detailed. Additionally, Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are the other clubs linked with him.
ESPN pundit Hutchison has claimed though that he wouldn’t be surprised if Chelsea move for Haaland, and tried to negotiate a player-plus-cash deal to drive the price tag down.
He feels that £45million (Sky Sports) Chelsea attacker Werner is somebody that could be sacrificed by the Blues.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if Chelsea threw in someone like Timo Werner [for Haaland], and said look there is 50million off the 180million without even trying,” Hutchison told EPSN.

If you look at Werner’s season so far at Stamford Bridge, he’s slightly underachieved during his first year.
The German forward’s record of 10 goals in 39 appearances is far less than most expected, as he was absolutely lethal at former club RB Leipzig.
Haaland is someone that would be a statement signing for any club and also send out a huge message to the rest of Europe, but it would be a surprise if Chelsea are prepared to give up on 25-year-old Werner already.
