Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu will reportedly join Italian top-flight club Spezia on loan tomorrow.
According to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the 21-year-old Blues will player will travel to Italy on Thursday to join the Serie A outfit on a season-long loan.
It is understood the move will only be on a temporary basis, despite previous claims that a transfer could include an option to buy.
Romano says this is an imminent deal that’s “done and sealed” ahead of this week’s transfer deadline cut-off point.

Ampadu will join Spezia
Ampadu, who was on the bench last night for Chelsea’s crushing 2-1 league defeat to Southampton, is set for another spell in Italy.
The Wales international spent last season as a key player for Venezia, who were ultimately relegated from Serie A.
However, the versatile talent is now ready for another chance in Italy’s top division.
He’s a great developing player that can comfortably play as a centre-back or defensive midfielder, so it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up long-term.
It’ll be a fourth loan spell away from Stamford Bridge after previous spells at Venezia, Sheffield Untied and RB Leipzig.

Ampadu may feel he deserves a chance in Thomas Tuchel’s side if you look at the current state of Chelsea’s midfield, but the sensible decision is another year on loan where he plays every week.
The fact that there’s a World Cup just a few months around the corner means the Welshman ideally needs to play regularly.
Let’s hope there’s still a path into Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side further down the line.
