Some Chelsea fans have urged the club to sign reported target Declan Rice after his display in West Ham’s win over Watford yesterday.

The 21-year-old was on the score-sheet yesterday with a screamer in the first half.

But it was not just his performance in that game than impressed people.

Speaking in the post-match interview, Rice spoke about his disappointment at the team’s performance in the second half despite the scoreline.

“We started really well and went 3-0 up with three great goals”, the West Ham captain said (as quoted by the Hammers’ official website).

“We’re disappointed with the second half though, even though we won 3-1.

“We need to stop being in the comfort zone where we’re winning the game and drop back so deep.

“We let teams come back into the game and we need to see them off. Luckily enough in the end we got the win.

However Rice also couldn’t hide his excitement over the important win which could save them from relegation this season.

“Tonight was massive,” he said.

“The lads knew before the game, the manager, everyone. We’ve had a week to prepare and that was a massive win. I’m so happy we could give the fans the three points tonight.”

The former Chelsea academy player has been linked with a return to West London, with the latest report saying Frank Lampard admires the midfielder (Goal).

Some Chelsea fans on Twitter have urged the club to bring the midfielder to Stamford Bridge, especially after watching his post-match interview.
