Juventus could become interested in signing one Chelsea defender in this transfer window.

There could be an opportunity for at least one Chelsea centre-back to leave the club this summer.

After signing Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham, the Blues now have six centre-halves on their books.

That number could also go up to seven by the end of the week.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Basel’s Renato Veiga will complete his Chelsea medical on Wednesday. It would now be a surprise if the club did not sell one of their central defenders before the transfer market closes.

Juventus could register interest in Chelsea star

Enzo Maresca could end up doing his former club Juventus a big favour this summer.

The Italian has plenty of centre-halves to choose from, with Veiga set to join Adarabioyo as another option.

But according to journalist Alessio Lento, the future of one of those centre-backs, Benoit Badiashile, is currently uncertain.

He has claimed that his future now lies in Maresca’s hands and that Chelsea value him at £29.5m ahead of a potential switch to Juventus, who could end up making a move for him.

For now, though, the Serie A club appear to be just monitoring his situation at Stamford Bridge.

What should Enzo Maresca do with Benoit Badiashile?

It looked like Badiashile and Levi Colwill would be the two players competing for the left centre-back spot in the Chelsea team this upcoming season.

With Veiga able to play there, though, that may change things a little bit.

The best thing for Maresca to do is look at Badiashile in pre-season.

Have a solid one, and he should stay, with Veiga perhaps covering the left-back position or joining another club on loan instead.

Because of injuries, Badiashile’s Chelsea career so far has been a bit up and down. It would be good to see what he can really do with a bit of consistency.
