Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed to GiveMeSport that Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic is ‘not 100% sure’ if he wants to extend his contract at Chelsea.
The midfielder has endured an injury-hit start to the season at Stamford Bridge.
Graham Potter has admitted the 28-year-old has not really been fit since pre-season, despite being featured many times by both managers this season.

He is beginning to look like he is returning to full fitness at the World Cup with Croatia.
A dominant performance in midfield yesterday against Canada brought the 2018 finalists their first victory of the competition, giving them a great chance of qualifying from their group at the expense of Belgium.
Chelsea fans will be hoping this is a sign of the midfielder back firing at his best on a regular basis, with his importance to the side last season being matched by few.
Kovacic undecided on future
However, they may be concerned to hear what Phillips has claimed, with the Croatian reportedly keeping his options open for the future.
He said: “Chelsea wanted to get him signed before the World Cup, but that didn’t happen. At the moment, Kovacic and his people are exploring other options. They’re not 100% sure if they want to extend with Chelsea.”

With reports that they are also struggling to tie down Mason Mount to a new long-term deal, there may be fears that a first team exodus could be on the cards at Stamford Bridge.
All the talk surrounding new signings never going away when the Blues are involved, it sometimes takes the attention away from some of the players already at the club.
Todd Boehly will do well to continue to notice who the important players at the club are, and ensure Graham Potter does not have to endure time at the club without them.
