Chelsea have set their sights on Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki as a potential transfer target.
That is according to well-respected journalist Simon Phillips.
Phillips has shared on his Substack that Chelsea are “exploring the signing” of Lyon star Rayan Cherki.
The French talent, who’s currently impressing this summer at the Under-21s European Championship, is now on the Blues radar.
So, will Mauricio Pochettino’s side step up interest and try to bring the 19-year-old to Stamford Bridge in this summer window?

In our view, Cherki is a star in the making we would absolutely love Chelsea to sign.
He’s a technically gifted attacker that can impress in a No 10 position or on the wing, with his quick dribbling and quality off both feet a huge positive in his game.
He’s already played 102 first-team games for Lyon, scoring 14 goals and creating 16 assists.
Cherki, who’s been described as “very talented” by Lyon manager Laurent Blanc (Get Football News), is very experienced for a teenager.
He’s clearly still a young developing talent that is nowhere near the finished article, but our guess is he could add a creative spark to the Chelsea line-up.
On top of a new striker, Mauricio Pochettino’s side may need some extra help going forward with another creative playmaker.

If Chelsea make a serious move for Cherki, he could be in line to join a strong French contingent that is now forming at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are lucky to already own French stars Christopher Nkunku, Benoit Badiashile, Malo Gusto and Wesley Fofana.
