Even though Chelsea’s squad is stacked with attacking talent, Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze has emerged as a transfer target for them.
The forward options at Chelsea include quality stars such as Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro, and Pedro Neto, who each played key roles in the Blues winning the 2025 Club World Cup.
However, Palace star Eberechi Eze is linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge.
Back in May, Chelsea eyed a potential move for Eze this summer because he’s universally liked at the club. Now, the latest transfer development explains that the Blues have ramped up their interest.
Reports claimed that Chelsea held talks with Eze’s agents earlier this week to discuss a potential move to join them across London. At the moment, Enzo Maresca’s side have not contacted Palace or triggered the attacker’s £65m release clause because they want to hear the player’s stance first.

Chelsea fans really keen to sign Eberechi Eze
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media agree that Palace’s Eze would be a superb addition for them this summer.
Here are Blues fans on X discussing the potential swoop for the England international…
One fan wrote: “This is heating up… he will be a wonderful addition.”
“We’re not desperately in need of Eze, but bring him if we can,” another posted.
One supporter claimed: “I may cry. I had faith in this ownership and they have made me proud.”
“Use that Noni Madueke and Club World Cup money. This guy is a baller,” another said.
Finally, one fan commented: “The perfect profile for this squad. Even if Morgan Rogers reaches his full potential he won’t be as good as Eberechi Eze.”

Eberechi Eze ready for next step
Without a doubt, Eze is talented enough and at a stage in his career to take the next step.
Aged 27, he should be entering his prime years, so it would be great to see him test himself in the Champions League for the first time. We suspect it would do his international chances no harm ahead of the 2026 World Cup if the Englishman starts performing at an elite club, too.

From a Chelsea perspective, Eze is a bit older than a lot of the signings they’ve made in recent times. But the creative playmaker ticks a lot of boxes, especially because he can shine as a No.10 or a left-winger.
Eze could be tempted to leave Palace for Champions League football, which Chelsea secured on the final day of last season, so this could be a fascinating transfer saga to follow.
